SPECIALIZING IN BOTH POCKET WATCH REPAIR AND WRIST WATCH REPAIR.

NOW FEATURING SPECIAL PRICING ON SEIKO KINETIC CAPACITOR REPLACEMENT! PLEASE SEE PRICING PAGE!

OMEGA WATCH REPAIR, BULOVA WATCH REPAIR, GRUEN WATCH REPAIR, & SEIKO WATCH REPAIR ARE A SPECIALTY!

FROM VINTAGE AMERICAN POCKET WATCHES TO THE FINEST SWISS WATCHES OF TODAY, LET ME HANDLE YOUR WATCH REPAIR!

Below are my crystal prices. The crystal is the clear part on the front of the watch that you see the time though. Keep in mind that genuine factory crystals (if available) will be more. Please take these prices as a guide so you have some idea of the cost of your repair. The prices are only a guide as my cost on the crystals may go up at any time, and I probably will not know until I order the crystal. I often cannot get genuine crystals for most watches, the exceptions being Omega and Seiko. Most watch companies are now refusing to sell crystals even to material houses. The aftermarket repair sector is now relying mostly on "generic" or aftermarket crystals to complete repairs. In most cases these crystals are every bit as good as the originals and at a lower cost. The prices below are for the crystal only and the labor to install it, return shipping will be extra.

If you would like a crystal installed in your watch, please e-mail me so that we may schedule your repair.

Please note that I do not sell crystals by themselves, only with installation.

PRICES AND INFORMATION IN EFFECT 2014

WRISTWATCH CRYSTAL PRICES

All crystal prices include labor, but not return shipping. If your watch requires a new crystal gasket then that cost will be extra (most modern watches use crystal gaskets to hold in the crystal). Most times a new gasket is not required, but I wanted to mention it here just so there are no surprises later on.

Most crystal repairs take less than two weeks unless the crystal must be special ordered or the case must be sent out for a custom crystal. Mineral glass crystals, many plastic wrist watch and pocket watch crystals, and most glass open-face pocket watch crystals are kept in stock.

Where glue is required to install your crystal I use only the finest available!

I have crystals for most vintage watches in stock. This includes Seiko, Gruen, Elgin, Hamilton, Illinois, Wittnauer, etc.

I have many faceted-edge ladies watch crystals in stock.

I have many vintage glass wrist watch crystals in stock including many round ones.

I do not sell crystals, I only install them. I need the crystals I have to service my customers watches. E-mails asking me to sell crystals only will not be answered. Thank you for your understanding.

In most cases you cannot put a sapphire or mineral glass crystal into a modern watch that originally had a plastic crystal. The exceptions would be a watch that has a flat round plastic or glass crystal for sapphire, or a flat square or round plastic crystal for mineral glass. Most pocket watches can either take a glass or plastic crystal, but some pocket watch cases were designed just to take a plastic crystal.

Return shipping with $200 insurance runs $10 at this time.

SHIPPING AND ESTIMATES

PLEASE read, agree to, and follow the procedure below for sending your watch for estimate/repair. The steps below are for YOUR safety and that of your timepiece! I take in many watches for repair and without the proper information I have requested I can not track your watch or return it to you! SIMPLY HAVING THE INFORMATION ON YOUR CHECK OR MONEY ORDER IS NOT ENOUGH. I AM SOMETIMES NOT THE ONE THAT OPENS THE PARCELS OR CASHES THE CHECKS/MONEY ORDERS. PLEASE PROVIDE THE INFORMATION I ASK FOR BELOW! THANK YOU!!!

I hate to add this, but after years of asking, people still are sending their watches in envelopes, padded envelopes, and uninsured. That being said, ANY watch that is received in an envelope or uninsured WILL be refused at the post office and returned to the owner at their expense. I am sorry, but if I accept the package and there is damage I then become the responsible party. please ship you watch in a box and insure it. thank you!!!!

1) BEFORE sending your watch you must first e-mail me for approval of your repair. No watches except Seiko Kinetic will be accepted for repair without prior approval. Once your repair is approved by me you will be provided with my complete shipping address. THERE IS NO SHIPPING ADDRESS ON THIS PAGE AS ALL REPAIRS EXCEPT SEIKO KINETIC OVERHAULS AND BATTERY OVERHAULS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BEFORE ACCEPTANCE.

2) Wrap your watch in BUBBLE WRAP and place it in a BOX (the US Post Office gives away Priority Mail boxes for free (request the small video box).  DO NOT SHIP TO ME IN A PADDED ENVELOPE (yes some people HAVE done this!)! ANY WATCH RECEIVED IN A PADDED ENVELOPE WILL BE REFUSED AT THE POST OFFICE AND RETURNED TO ITS OWNER AT THEIR COST. Shipping in a padded envelope is just inviting your watch to be destroyed!!!

3) Enclose the Watch Repair Authorization Form with your watch.

4) Include a check in the proper amount to cover the work you would like done on your watch.

5) Ship your timepiece by USPS Priority Mail.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Repair Parts Restricted Brands

Please Read!

Mechanical watches require periodic service in order to keep them in proper operating condition.   The cost of periodic maintenance is part of the long-term cost of ownership, which must be factored into any watch purchase decision.
We believe the watch buying consumer should have the right to have their watch serviced by the watchmaker of their own choosing and not be forced to obtain service only from factory repair facilities at non-competitive prices .

We believe that an open market for repair service promotes competition, holds down repair costs, and is good for the watch consumer.
It is our understanding that the manufacturers of the following brands refuse to sell repair parts to independent watchmakers.  In some cases, these manufacturers will not even sell repair parts to their authorized dealers.  We believe this practice is unfair to both consumers and independent watchmakers.

We would further add that only through consumer pressure can this situation be resolved. We encourage you to contact your State and US Congressional representatives about this issue. In addition, inform the company or companies exactly how you feel about this policy. As long as the manufacturers are allowed to continue this policy, the consumer will suffer with higher repair prices in a noncompetitive environment. In addition, the future of the independent watchmaker, both in the United States and other countries is being called into serious doubt because of the lack of repair parts.

Anyone considering the purchase of one of these watches should inquire whether the brand will provide repair parts to the independent watchmaker of the customer's choosing, or if the watch can only be serviced at the manufacturer's repair facility.   We hope you will consider this information carefully before making your purchase decision.
